Ícaro Ravelo began his musical journey in childhood, participating in school marching bands. He started with percussion instruments, but his curiosity soon led him to explore melodic instruments, quickly expanding his musical abilities.
At the age of 11, he moved to Macaé-RJ due to his mother's job. There, he continued playing in school bands—this time, in a drum corps format. Through this environment, he became involved with the church, where he used his band experience to learn how to play the drums. Soon after, he enrolled in the local conservatory, dedicating himself to the study of Brazilian music and rhythms such as samba, baião, axé, and bossa nova. In parallel, he also studied tribal percussion, developing a unique and personal playing style. During his time at the conservatory, he also learned to play the piano through music theory classes.
As a drummer, he played with local bands in various styles until he moved to São Paulo to study electrical engineering—a course he didn't complete due to returning to Macaé for personal reasons. Upon his return, he became a music teacher and resumed performing in the local scene, playing in bars, private events, and weddings.
Ravelo recorded drums for several bands and artists, including Fenrir's Scar, MindCrafter, and Dead State.
Thanks to his knowledge of the piano, he began composing music and, during that time, had his first contact with music production. While composing his own songs, he started uploading videos to YouTube, where he met Ellie Kamphuis and Eric Aguilar. Together, they formed the symphonic metal band Arkana Fen. With the band, they released two EPs: Reborn from the Ashes (2019) and Six of Swords (2022). These releases led to an invitation to record their debut album with producer Thiago Bianchi at Estúdio Fusão. However, due to the logistical challenges of being an international project, the recording never materialized. The band then went on hiatus so each member could focus on personal projects.
He currently lives in Porto, Portugal, where he is pursuing a degree in Systems Analysis and Development and participating in the Full Production mentorship program by Pablo Greg.
In 2024, alongside Eric Aguilar, he founded Arkana Studio, where he has worked as a music producer and arranger ever since. Among his production, arrangement, and orchestration credits are bands such as Ruins of Elysium, Elenion, and Teosfera.
